The 2024 European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR) was held in Glasgow from 24th to 28th March 2024. This Conference primarily focused on the presentation of new research results in the broadly conceived area of Information Retrieval, providing an opportunity for both early career researchers and established researchers to present research papers reporting new, unpublished, and innovative research results. The key note speakers were Professor Charles L. A. Clarke (Professor of Computer Science and the Associate Dean for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo), Professor Josiane Mothe (Professor of Information Systems, Big Data, Information Retrieval, Information Mining and Machine Learning at INSPE of the Academy of Toulouse), and Professor Carlos Castillo (ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra).
